Crisis Support & Advocacy
We provide 24/7 confidential support for survivors of sexual violence, including a crisis hotline, medical and legal advocacy, and assistance navigating resources. Our trained advocates are here to offer compassionate guidance and empowerment every step of the way.
Counseling & Healing Services
Our trauma-informed counselors offer free and confidential therapy to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones. Whether through individual or group counseling, we provide a safe, supportive space to heal and reclaim your strength.
Prevention & Education
We are committed to ending sexual violence through education. Our workshops, training sessions, and outreach programs equip schools, workplaces, and community organizations with the knowledge to prevent violence, promote consent, and support survivors.

RACES (Rape Advocacy, Counseling, & Education Services) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing free, confidential crisis support, counseling, advocacy, and prevention education in Champaign, Douglas, Ford, and Piatt Counties.

Your donation helps make these services available to survivors and supports our work to prevent sexual violence in our community.

Who can receive support?

RACES supports survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones. Our services are free and confidential, and you do not have to report to law enforcement to receive support.

RACES serves Champaign, Douglas, Ford, and Piatt Counties.

What happens when I call the hotline?

You do not need to know exactly what you need before you call.

1. An answering service will pick up
You can request a Spanish-speaking representative if you prefer. You do not have to give your name; callers can remain anonymous.

2. You choose how you want to connect with an advocate
You can ask to be connected with an advocate right away, or you can leave a phone number for an advocate to call you back.

3. You’ll speak with a RACES advocate
Once you are connected, you can ask questions, talk about what you need, or learn more about your options and RACES services. You decide what you want to share.
